Seiko 6139-7100 Helmet

Even though as I type this this particular watch will be winging its way to a new owner (I seem to be going through some sort of ‘phase’)! But I thought it was worth a few words and photos here.

Sometimes referred to as the ‘Stormtrooper’ due to its white dial

I actually picked this up at a local jewellers, I had only popped in to enquire about a Tuna they had on display they had on display in the window when the owner pulled this out. It had supposedly been serviced (this turned out to be a lie), and had sat in store for some time so I managed to bag this (and another 6139 variant-more on this in another post) for a song!

The case on these is nice and chunky, hence the Helmet nick name and it houses the famous 6139 movement, this movement allows advancement of the day/date and setting the time all via the crown, quite an achievement in horological terms, especially when you consider this movement was designed in the 60s!

Anyway, enough jibber jabber, some photos of the watch in question (which I am already regretting selling even though ive only just posted it)!
